It was built on the XVII century in the most typical and fascinating hamlet of the town called “Rotolo”.
Its name, “Rotolo”, comes from the hamlet aspect, like a balcony on the sea, and by the sun that “roll” on the hamlet from dawn to the setting.
The deep and romantic view on the Amalfitan Coast, the silent and a pleasant persistent microclimate, attracted, in the pre-renaissance epoch, the neapolitan aristocracy that built the most representative summer villas in the hamlet.

You reach the villa from the town by half mile street that winds in steady slight rise, looking an emerald sea and the Lattari mountain’s peaks under a row of secular plan-trees.
Villa Amalfitana is included in such small urban context of the hamlet with a style typical of the Amalfitan Coast, surrounded by a wide tropical garden and served by a Carrara’s marble tiled swimming-pool.

In the ground floor, with multiple pedestrian access from the road, there are a laundry and a bath, a drawing-room-study with rear wine cellar and a wide bedroom with annexed bath.
A marble staircase leads up to the first floor (but there is another access road through the villa’s park); it has an entrance space with direct access to the swimming pool, a wide hall in rose Portuguese marble and a crystalline of Greece made precious by zecchino gold putties; a characteristic bathroom made in typical italian "cotto", brass and china (porcelain), a wide kitchen furnished with ceramics and wood Massello, with annexed bath and larder, all enriched by a great fireplace.
From the inside, thanks to a wide suspended staircase, in the main central hall, it is possible to reach the second floor, or from the upper terraces served by an arc staircase that soars high above the swimming pool.
The second floor has four bedrooms furnished in eighteenth-century style, complete of four inner baths and two large terraces with a fantastic sight on the Amalfitan coast.
Villa Amalfitana offers to its visitors an extensive park covered with cicas, bouganville and other countless tropical plants and Mediterranean flowers which embellish the big swimming pool made in white Carrara marble, with to the external furnishing in wrought iron and to the characteristic ancestral chapel sets in the rock.
In particular, Villa Amalfitana boasts of its wonderful panorama coloured by the green of the mountains the blue of the sea, and by the view of the country houses and the nineteenth-century residences.
